Due to that, our long-term strategies have always been based also on principles of ethic, environmental and social sustainability, in the interest of all our stakeholders. To make our commitment recognizable and acknowledged, we are adopting specific organizational, management and control models, based on strict standards that ensure the respect of social, ethic and environmental rules.

Margaritelli Ferroviaria has been awarded a score of 75/100 in its latest EcoVadis sustainability assessment. This rating reflects the company’s commitment to ethical, environmental, and social responsibility, achieved through the collective effort of our organization and its people.

Our difference

Since 2022, Margaritelli Ferroviaria has been actively investing in the protection and enhancement of the local forest heritage of the Umbrian territory financing the 2022-2032 forest management plan of the “Bosco di Piegaro (PG)”, also aimed at certifying its ecosystemic functions according to the PEFC standard.  In 2023, the forest manager (Selvamar s.s.) with the support of Margaritelli Ferroviaria has obtained the certification of the following forest services:

Carbon absorption, storage and non-emission

Tourist/recreational functions

The forest management project funded by Margaritelli Ferroviaria since 2023 has increased the yearly additional carbon absorption by more than 700 tCO2eq. These results are valid as sustainability credits according to PEFC regulations.
