Ethic and Corporate Liability
Margaritelli Ferroviaria has adopted the Model of Organization, Management, and Control in accordance with the Legislative Decree no. 231 of 8 June 2001 (shortly said the "Model 231”), that introduced into the Italian Law a system in which organizations – including corporations – have administrative liability for unlawful acts committed by any representative of the company, such as directors, managers, or employees, in the interest or to the benefit of the organization, to prevent such offenses.
Margaritelli Ferroviaria has adopted its Organisational Model to establish a comprehensive system of guiding principles, operating procedures, and other specific supervisory measures based on criteria of good management practice. The Organisational Model is also intended to specifically prevent the perpetration of the unlawful acts set out in the Legislative Decree.

EPD - Environmental Product Declarations
The EPD is an environmental statement based on a life cycle study (LCA study) that allows you to communicate objective, credible and comparable information relating to the environmental performance of a product throughout its entire life cycle.
The summary table shows the main performance indicators regarding the production potential environmental impacts, normally indicated as "from cradle to gate": an analysis that considers the initial phases of the life cycle of a product, starting from the extraction of raw materials to arrive at the exit of the finished product from the production plant.
Margaritelli Road Safety products are characterized by a total production of greenhouse gases, total GWP in the "from cradle to gate" analyses, significantly lower than traditional barriers made of galvanized steel.
The main reason is the carbon dioxide storage function ensured by the use of PEFC certified laminated wood.

The implementation and maintenance of a PEFC Chain of Custody is the tool through which Margaritelli Road Safety demonstrates its commitment to reduce deforestation, conserve biodiversity and act responsibly on a social level, through the implementation of a legal and sustainable wooden raw material supply system.
Margaritelli Road Safety products are PEFC certified with a percentage of certified wood equal to 100%.
Margaritelli promotes sustainable forest management.

Since 2022, Margaritelli Ferroviaria has been actively investing in the protection and enhancement of the local forest heritage of the Umbrian territory financing the 2022-2032 forest management plan of the “Bosco di Piegaro (PG)”, also aimed at certifying its ecosystemic functions according to the PEFC standard. In 2023, the forest manager (Selvamar s.s.) with the support of Margaritelli Ferroviaria has obtained the certification of the following forest services:

Tourist/recreational functions
The forest management project funded by Margaritelli Ferroviaria since 2023 has increased the yearly additional carbon absorption by more than 700 tCO2eq. These results are valid as sustainability credits according to PEFC regulations.

Raw materials

Fir laminated wood
We only use CE-marked glulam for structural uses according to EN 14080. The homogeneity, repeatability and constancy of mechanical performance are elements of significant importance in the construction of a reliable road safety barrier.

Structural weathering steel
We only use S355J0WP type steel according to EN 10025, CE-marked for structural uses - commonly known as corten steel - which allows us to combine exceptional durability with a strong aesthetic connotation, creating an ideal chromatic combination between wood and the color of oxidized steel.
